It is with great sadness that the team from Highest Point Lancaster who are bringing the Leighton Live Festival to us over the jubilee weekend have made the decision to cancel this event.

Please be aware

 Today you'll see adverts in newspapers for Leighton Live. We understand this is going to cause some confusion. To clarify: The Leighton Live music festival HAS been cancelled, but unfortunately the organiser couldn't retract the adverts before the newspapers and magazines went to print. If you see an advert for this event, ignore it and please do not attempt to try and buy tickets.

The reason for this decision is that with two weeks to go, we simply have not sold enough tickets.

Events are ridiculously expensive things to stage, with the costs to put each one on covered not only by the ticket sales but by the bars and on-site catering too. Without enough people on site across the weekend, these costs don’t get covered.

The Highest Point events team have spent the last week or so working through various forecasts and scenarios, but ultimately, due to poor ticket sales, have to make the decision to cancel the event rather than incur any more expenses in delivering the show.

All tickets holders will receive a full refund shortly. There is no need to do anything – you’ll be sent an email in the next day or so and will be issued a full refund back onto the card with which you paid.

Apologies to all and we know that many people including our team here are very sad to learn that this event cannot go ahead this year.
