Inside the Hall Stepping inside Leighton Hall is a step back in time. Although the house is often busy with visitors, it still retains the atmosphere of a family home because every room in the house is used regularly by the Gillow Reynolds family and friends. There are no roped off areas at Leighton Hall - Visitors are invited to sit on the ancient chairs while entertaining and enthusiastic guides reveal the family's history and habits. They are welcome to take their places around the 18th century dining table or even to play a tune on the Concert Steinway piano! Each room from the Gothic hall to the principal bedroom to the charming library has some interesting secret to reveal or tale to tell. Why is there a lock of James II's hair in the Drawing room, and why is the table in the hall shaped like a daisy?
